Hope

I have nothing but grief to express about the current state of Malala Yousufzai. I wish that she and her family recovers from this. In these times, I really hope that God intervenes because it is all in the name of God.

Here is a link to her blog which she wrote when she was 11.

Here is a link to an article written on her.

And another one from the Washington Post.

  1. Tanmoy, I don’t want to sound cynical, but does the ‘world’ really give a damn?

  2. Dear Suvroda – A large part (probably majority) of the world that we hear about do not give a damn but then Malala and her parents are part of the same world. I think if they were so brave under such circumstances, there must be many other people who are like them.

  3. I didn’t make myself sufficiently clear, Tanmoy. What I meant was, where is the vast tidal wave of global outrage which will put unbearable pressure on the Pakistani government to bring the criminals immediately to book, and give them the harshest possible punishment allowed by the law?

  4. Remember an ape called Sutapa who wrote some trash in reply to this post, Tanmoy? Well, there’s good news in that connection – see my latest comment on my last blogpost, ‘Abhirup on my critics’. I am glad to know that the world has been responding to Malala in a way that can make a difference…the world is not entirely full of apes, not yet!

  5. Thank you Suvroda for your comment. Yes, I have been following the UN initiative on Malala from its inception. Most definately the world is not full of such creeps.
