I was very angry with Karan Johar for apologising to the MNS chief. Anyway, I never had much regard for the so called “Bollywood” fraternity and this incident gave me another reason to comment on their shallow values.
After reading this article by another director, Hansal Mehta, my sympathies are with such people. To some extent probably I can understand why Karan apologised.
I guess sometimes in order to prevent atrocities you need to take a step backward. However for how long such things would continue in India?
It is a shame, when Raj himself is using an anglicized version of his surname – English Thackeray instead of the more proper Marathi Thakre. See http://kamleshksingh.blogspot.com/2008/05/thackerays-surname-stinks-of-hypocrisy.html

hey tan
it is truly a shame that people have to apologize for such things as names. our politicians are no better when they tend to speak in english, wear english dresses etc. that is called hypocrisy. further, what is in a name as Shakespeare said. A rose by any other name is still a rose. Trust they never took english as another language to study !. I am sure the next thing we would look at is all govt sites should be vernacular and not english since we have online site translators !!!!
